I acquired this 1946 Cessna 140 as a project in 2010 from an A&P Mechanic in Houston, TX. He had already begun a restoration, so I anticipated getting the airplane flying again very quickly. However, his "restoration" turned out to be ill-conceived and shoddy, so I spent the next five years completely restoring the airplane, including the following.

• Complete engine overhaul incorporating new eCI cylinders and an STC for O-200 pistons, rods, and crankshaft
• New lightweight SkyTec starter
• New 60-amp alternator
• Marvel-Shebler MA3-SPA carburetor set up for the engine STC
• Overhauled metal propeller
• New full-flow spin-on oil filter
• Airframe completely rewired and replumbed.
• New ball bearing control pulleys and cables throughout
• New windshield and windows throughout
• New or overhauled minimum VFR/Day instruments with space for iPad Mini on the subpanel
• Garmin SL40 com, Garmin GTX327 transponder, and Sigtronics intercom
• Cessna 150 seats installed for individual fore/aft adjustability
• Cleveland wheels and brakes to replace original Goodyear units
• Scott 8" pneumatic tailwheel
• Wings covered with Dacron using the Stewart Systems STC and polyurethane paint
• Fuselage completely stripped and repainted using Stewart Systems polyurethane paint
• New upholstery, carpeting, and headliner

The restoration was completed in September 2015.
